This winter, Germany Close Up is running its second photo competition for program alumni. The theme of the competition parallels that of the essay competition 'Germany Close Up: There and Back Again'.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for submissions that show interactions, situations, or sites that significantly impacted how you as an alumni experienced Germany and that strongly influenced the thoughts and sentiments you took home with you.
What you can win:
The photographer of the winning submission will receive a generous book prize and a return trip to the location of our first alumni event in the US, once transatlantic travel recommences. Second and third place getters will also be awarded a book prize.
All winners and shortlisted submissions will have the opportunity to be published in our forthcoming essay collection.
How to enter:
You can enter up to five digital photos. To enter, please email your photos together with a completed and hand signed application form (see below) to our office.
Your photos should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi and be at least 1 MB in size. Please submit your photos in jpg-Format.
Close of submissions is January 3, 2021
